When & how

Get it ready
Separate metal and non-burnable items from burnable material into two neat piles. Cut long metal or wood to four feet, tie and bundle it, and remove nails. Do not use cardboard boxes, plastic bags or the rubbish barrel for bulk material.

Bulk items cannot be placed at the curb more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup, and the City assesses fines for material put out sooner. Items are out by 6 a.m. on the appointment day.
