The station admits only vehicles carrying the current town pass, and the sticker has to be affixed to the inside of the front windshield on the driver's side. Arrange it
Go to the Revenue Office in Town Hall at 75 Main Street with a Connecticut driver's licence and the vehicle registration, or use the town's mail-in permit form.
The 2026 pass replaced the pass that expired on March 31, 2026, so a vehicle without the current sticker is not admitted, and the sticker must be fixed to the windshield rather than carried.
Sorted bulky material in four streams: burnable logs, sticks, brush, shrubs, small root masses, carpeting, lumber, wood fencing, wood deck material and furniture; non-burnable demolition material such as sheet rock, plaster, asphalt material, roofing, tile and concrete under six inches; metal including mowers, bicycles, storm doors, railings, pipe and appliances; and miscellaneous leaves and brush, household electronics, fluorescent lights, batteries and mattresses.
A current town pass affixed to the windshield is required for entry, a licence or vehicle registration is presented for residency verification, no waste generated outside Southington is accepted, demolition material has to be kept separate, and the guide refuses garbage, cardboard, drums, paint cans, stumps and logs over six inches, rocks and concrete over six inches, liquid and industrial waste, tires, hazardous, radioactive and infectious waste, motor vehicles, explosives, grass clippings and hay, bags whether empty or full, papers, books, magazines, boats and campers. The office issues the permits but does not operate the station, and questions about rules, hours and what is allowed go to the Highway and Parks Department.
