City cost & eligibility
No charge. Clean mattresses and box springs in good shape are free at the Transfer Station for Meriden residents during normal hours. A broken or dirty mattress or box spring carries an additional 20.00 per item charge, and the curbside route charges a flat appointment fee with a mattress and box spring counting as two items.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Meriden.

How much does mattress removal cost in Meriden?

The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Meriden?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.

Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?

The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?

You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.

Where does a Meriden mattress go?

To the Meriden Transfer Station, where clean mattresses and box springs are accepted free during normal hours and a broken or dirty one carries an extra charge per item. The bedding has to be in good shape and cannot be wet, frozen or severely damaged, and pillows, water beds, fold out sofa beds, futons and loose pads or toppers are refused. The paid curbside pickup also takes clean bedding, counting the mattress and box spring as two of the eight items.Official guidance

How does Meriden handle bulky waste?

Two ways. A household can book a curbside bulky waste appointment, which runs on Wednesdays for a flat non-refundable fee and takes up to eight listed items, or it can drive the load to the Meriden Transfer Station on Evansville Avenue, where fees are charged per vehicle and the accepted list covers furniture, sofas, carpeting, appliances, tires within the limit and electronics. The station takes residential material only, requires proof of residency and does not provide help with unloading.Official guidance

What is free at the Meriden Transfer Station?

Clean mattresses and box springs in good shape, brush up to four feet long and six inches in diameter within two cubic yards per visit, corrugated cardboard, leaves in paper bags, and electronics including televisions, computers, DVRs, coffee makers and microwaves. Everything else on the accepted list is covered by the per vehicle fee, and a broken or dirty mattress adds a charge per item.Official guidance
